The Enrollment Process
Admission to Detroit Institute of Gastronomy is a multi-step process which consists of evaluation of prior academic experience and assessment for post-secondary readiness of eligible applicants. DIG wants to ensure that the students that begin their education are committed so a multi-step application for enrollment process has been developed.
As a former military service member, you may be eligible to receive US-Department of Veterans Education Benefits. The Detroit Institute of Gastronomy is an approved education provider for these benefits. Prior to starting the application process, find our if you are eligible for these funds.
The Concierge Team is here to help applicants through the process and answer any questions that may come up along the way.

Applicant Tasks:
Once Step 1 is submitted to Detroit Institute of Gastronomy, you will receive a confirmation email to begin Step 2. Meanwhile, a concierge will contact your references and ask a few brief questions.

Now the process begins. Step 2 requires the applicant to provide documentation and insight into why they are interested in enrolling. The following information is required for Step 2 of the application:
Once the applicant submits the above requirements, they are ready to take the next step! Our concierge team will review the material and asses the applicants readiness for enrollment. If the criteria is met, a non-refundable commitment deposit is required to hold the apprentices spot for the next available start.
Once we receive all the material, the applicant will sign the enrollment agreement and become an official student of the Detroit Institute of Gastronomy!
