Detroit Institute of Gastronomy offers three programs in the culinary arts through apprenticeship. Students in the State of Michigan are offered two program options:
- Diploma – 1-year Culinarian Apprenticeship
- Associate Degree in Applied Science – Culinary Arts – 2-Year Sous Chef Apprenticeship
Two programs are available to residents outside the state of Michigan through the U.S. DOL Office of Apprenticeship:
- 1-Year Culinarian Apprenticeship
- 2-Year Sous Chef Apprenticeship
These out of state programs DO NOT result in a credential from the Detroit Institute of Gastronomy but allow the student to earn a Journeyman credential from the U.S. DOL and eligibility to test from the American Culinary Federation’s Certifications.
