Detroit Institute of Gastronomy is an open door, institution offering quality career, technical, and academic courses in the State of Michigan for the student’s achievement of culinary industry credentialing in culinary arts.

American Culinary Federation Educational Foundation (ACFEF) and the U.S. Department of Labor recognize the need for structured training programs to maintain the highest level of skill and competency demanded in the food-service industry. A registered apprenticeship is the most practical and sound training system available to meet that need to develop individuals to be skilled culinary industry workers and to ensure industry an adequate supply of these skilled workers.

DIG is licensed in the State of Michigan as a tax exempt 501c3 non-profit, proprietary post-secondary education corporation and is recognized as a Registered Apprenticeship Program by the U.S. Department of Labor.

DIG holds institutional accreditation from the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), an accrediting body recognized by both the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the U.S. Department of Education. DIG offers the following apprenticeship programs: Culinarian (Certificate), Sous Chef (Diploma), and Associate Degree in Culinary Arts.
